Paula & her sister Helen are raising money for Macmillian and Primrose Hospice in memory of their Mum and Dad who were both diagnosed with terminal cancer.  They nursed both their Mum & Dad at home with the aid of both Macmillan and Primrose. Please come along and support the event that’s being held on 27th and 28th June from 11am – 3pm at 9 Blakedown Road, Halesowen, B63 4NE.

SOUND THE ALARM! PROCLAIM GOOD NEWS!At TRUMPET CALL 2015, we will release a trumpet sound over our nation. The alarm alerts us to the dangers we face, and the opportunities we have to live out our Christian faith, and act by praying for our nations.  All around us things are being shaken – in our towns, cities, nation and the world. Our nation is in pain with abused children, broken families, lonely elderly persons, community tensions and young people with a sense of hopelessness. BEFRIENDING SCHEME. The Methodist Centre is to run a befriending scheme from Monday 18th May. There will be a commissioning service at the Centre at 10.30 am on Sunday 24th May. Volunteer befrienders are needed to visit people in their own homes, on a fairly regular basis, initially for a 13 week period. Befriender and safeguarding vulnerable adults training.  To volunteer, contact Margaret Adams at the Methodist Church Cente,  tel 01527 835843.

HOLIDAY AT HOME EVENT. From Mon Aug 10th to Wed Aug 13 there will be a Holiday at Home event at the Methodist Church Centre, from 10.30 – 3.30 pm each day. There will be activities and entertainment taking us on an imaginary holiday. Lunch and light tea will be provided.    Designed for people who are unable to go away for a holiday. Requested donation: about £6. To book, contact Chris Chambers at the Methodist Church Centre. 01527 835843. Volunteers for activities and catering welcome.

“How Islamic is the so-called Islamic State?” A talk by Dr Chris Hewer for the Bromsgrove Justice & Peace Group. 7.30 pm At St Peter’s Community Centre, Rock Hill. Dr Hewer comes from a background of Christian theology, is the author of “Understanding Islam”. He is well known as a lecturer on Islamic and inter-faith studies.
