Great News – Holiday Clubs are back again this year and running from 22nd – 24th July from 10am – 12 noon.  There are groups for children of all ages. For 0-4 year olds we have Holiday Wonders, for 5 – 10 year olds we have Polar Explorers and for children in Year 6 and above we have full activity days planned. According to a recent survey, the average user spends approximately 42 minutes a day interacting with Facebook.  Most of us will invest those 42 minutes trawling through our newsfeed, looking at people’s photos and updates and willingly assigning a digital tick identifying our appreciation of our “friend’s” current achievements, whether they be a picture of their child’s latest faux pas, something nice their partner did for them that day or simply the fact they’ve just checked in at McDonalds in Wychbold. We start this newsletter with a huge thank you to everyone who donated food, toiletries and other goods over the Christmas period. Every year the good people of Bromsgrove and surrounding districts amaze us with their generosity – and this year was no exception. In fact this year was the best ever! We had schools, churches and other organisations collecting on our behalf, families calling in with items, sometimes every hour, and even people deciding not to buy each other presents for Christmas but giving to Basement clients instead. An update from NewStarts 1. Recycled 137,326 kg of unwanted furniture which e’ve donated to people in critical need and sold at low cost. 2. Given 267 emergency food bags to vulnerable individuals and families. 3. Recycled and reused about 1300 laptops/pcs, selling them at low cost to organisations and individuals around the UK and in the third world 4. Offered work experience for 100 unemployed people many of whom have gone on to secure employment and/or vocational/apprenticeship scheme. 5.
